The Wear It Festival in Berlin has been insanely popular with its demos, talks and workshops of fashion tech. To top off all the collaborative spirit, they have started another event—Fashion Hackday. Last year was the first run and it delivered delightful and inventive fashions that included body sensing for connection, facial symbols to help Autism and data visualization to bring awareness to the problem of rape. Check out my previous post of last year’s winners and take a look at the video below to see if this is a good fit for you.
Teams are formed based on the hackers, designers, devs and other innovators that apply. This is an international mash-up with great partners and mentors leading to a final competition. Don’t be shy—here are the dets and please do apply as I can personally vouch for this crew. Want to know what to pack? Bring our great wearable kit, the Getting Started With Adafruit FLORA Book Pack. It has a detailed book to get you started with our FLORA stitchable microcontroller and a good number of sensors and stitchable NeoPixels. If you want your wearable connected, just add on a FLORA BLE Module. Consider yourself covered. OK, apply already!
