The New York City Toy Fair is imminent and that means new product announcements. Hasbro is showcasing new role playing items including electronic versions of Poe Dameron’s helmet from The Force Awakens, Star-Lord’s helmet from Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor’s Mjolnir. Since they’re part of the Black Series and Marvel Legends lines, these products are more upscale and feature moving parts and light-up elements. They’re priced in the neighborhood of $100 which makes them just affordable enough to use as a starting point for modifications. Take a close look at the products and start planning how you can improve them once they’re available in the fall. I’m sure we’ll see cosplayers take these existing accessories and make them more screen accurate with paint and additional LEDs.
