Tinker Bell Costume Inspired By a Collectible

Costume inspiration comes from anywhere — films, TV, games, fan art, and even toys, Kelsey, also known as toughtink cosplay, made a costume based on a Couture de Force Disney collectible featuring Tinker Bell. You can see a photo of the figure below. It depicts Tink with a long flowing train covered in leaves. Kelsey patterned the costume herself, and also “sewed, dyed, embellished, and styled” her Tink look, including the wig. She did commission the wings and the ears from Aradani Studios.

She explained how she makes patterns:

i get a lot of people asking where i get my patterns, but the truth is that the majority of the things i make are patterned from scratch! i usually start with a big rectangle of muslin and fit it by taking it in and different places. works pretty well with princess seams like this tink dress will have.

You can see additional in-progress pictures in this Facebook album.
