I can’t resist photos where cosplayers re-create an in-character moment. It’s why these Deku, cosplayed by Minhcaron Cosplay, and Uraraka, cosplayed by DaBerry Best Cosplays, costumes caught my eye, even though I’m not familiar with the Buko no Hero anime they’re inspired by. I did a little digging, and these cosplayers did an excellent job matching the costumes and hair for these characters. This is only the second time Minhcaron has cosplayed, too. He made the faceplate from 5mm thick craft foam and to get the fabric right, he went by feel:
I have no idea how the fabric is called. I just went to a fabric store and saw a fabric that I liked and bought it. I liked it because it was not leaving fold marks, and was non stretchable. I aimed for a tight fit jacket approach rather than a spandex suit design.
That’s one reason why it’s helpful to go in a craft store and get hands-on with potential materials.
Get a closer look at the faceplate in this video.
