Black Bandcamp: Crowd Sourced and Volunteer Run Music Discovery Tool

We’re big fans of independent online music retailer Bandcamp and we’re currently really excited about this new site and resource called Black Bandcamp, which has done an amazing job of crowd sourcing and centralizing listings and information on Black artists and producers as well as Black owned record labels who have a presence on Bandcamp. This excellent music discovery tool also allows you to filter your results by genre and geographic area. Visit here – https://www.blackbandcamp.info.

They summarize it as such:

A crowd-sourced list of Black artists on Bandcamp: This site aims to provide an easy way to filter and sort the 2000+ Black Producers / Artists / Labels for Bandcamp Day spreadsheet. The goal of the sheet is to support Black artists, producers and labels through their Bandcamp links. The data is a work-in-progress (non-exhaustive) and administered by a group of volunteers…”

Here’s some of the great stuff we’ve found on Black Bandcamp over the last couple of weeks:

Shamir:

AKUA:

Jelani Sei:

Oceanator:

Auden:

Beverley Glenn-Copeland:

Danny Denial:

Lido Pimienta:

If these songs aren’t for you then you can dig in and check out 2000+ listings and you can submit your own recommendations here.
