A “Do Not Touch My Stuff” alarm with a Circuit Playground Express #MakeCode #CircuitPlaygroundExpress #Adafruit @purpleoranji @Adafruit @MSMakeCode

Sometimes, you need to protect your favorite toy or special cookie from sneaky siblings or parents. I wanted to keep my stuff safe and secure, so I decided to DIY a Portable “DO NOT TOUCH MY STUFF” Alarm from an Adafruit Circuit Playground Express.

It’s basically an alarm that will go off if someone tries to move your stuff. This won’t really “STOP” people from taking your things, It will just make it harder to do it unnoticed.

This project involves only a bit of solder that is optional, other than that, it is mostly just coding, so it should be an easy project for anyone to try. The heart of this project is the Circuit Playground Express. It’s an all-in-one board with a bunch of built-in sensors and LEDs. I used the Motion Sensor and LEDs but for future versions, I may incorporate other sensors. And for coding the project I tried something new and used MakeCode. It’s a block-based coding environment that will allow you to test out programs and also edit in JavaScript code if you want more control. You also have the choice of using CircuitPython, EDUblocks, Arduino, and Code.org.

And to give things a bit more fun, I designed and created a special case to hold everything. I based my design on the ones from Adafruit and 3D printed everything.

See the video below which includes extensive notes in the description. Great work!
