Remixed Adafruit Motorized Slider MK3 #3DThursday #3DPrinting

Looks like Adafruit rolled their own ATmega328P board and built their new camera slider around it. Bad news: I already have an Arduino Uno, and I’d like to use it instead. So, I grabbed the old MK2 case they build for the Arduino, cut the mount pegs off of it, and punched some new holes in it:

All parts (except tyres) can be printed in PLA. I used rigid.ink flexi PLA for the tyres but any flexible filament can be used!

How to Add a Carbon Pattern Effect to Props

Wayne’s Workshop is always an excellent resource for how-tos that will improve your props, and in a recent video, he covers how to add a carbon pattern effect to props. This technique could also be applied to any cosplay armor for a different texture. The basis of the tutorial comes from an easy to attain material (which is something I appreciate about his videos): non-slip grip mats. You can pick those up at any box store and add a sleek finish to your props.

Zelda Themed Shield Holder-Display #3DPrinting #3DThursday

Made this for a friend to hold his Zelda replica items, which are made of metal. It’s the Hylian crest with a holder for the shield, sword, and the certificate if you want to put it in the back.

The left side has two holes, one round and one rectangle. The rectangle is for the sword tip and the round is for the sword hilt, so you can display it either way.

LED physics on a Pi powered Matrix #3DPrinting #3DThursday

Simulated LED Sand Physics!
These LEDs interact with motion and looks like they’re affect by gravity. An Adafruit LED matrix displays the LEDs as little grains of sand which are driven by sampling an accelerometer with Raspberry Pi Zero!

The 3D Printed handles make it easy to hold the 64×64 LED Matrix and the two buttons make it easy to switch modes or reset simulations!
