Graflex Lightsaber – Prop Accurate #3DThursday #3DPrinting

This is my second remix of CaseStudyno8’s Anakin Lightsaber. This model is as closely accurate to an actual Graflex flash tube prop that I can get. For all practical purposes, the exterior looks just like the real deal, with the exception of the bunny ears, which I traded perfect accuracy for ease of assembly.

Printing should not be a problem 😉

for usb i used cables like the one on the picture, just cut the males of and solder it directly to your raspberry pi. You will find the cables on amazon or banggood.
for mounting the case to the middle part i used screws which where also used to mount fans in a PC (Computer Cooling Fan Mount Screws). Same for the Backplate. You’ll find them also an amazon
i used 30x30mm 5v fans
for mounting the base to the middle part you can use screws with 3mm diameter and 20mm length
in the base you can mount iron plates to weight it down
— plate size 80x60mm
— holes for plates 68x51mm and 3,5mm use also 3mm screws
to prevent the stand from sliping around, i used a 1,5mm mat which is also used in trunk of cars. Use a spray glue to fix it 😉

A new guide today in the Adafruit Learning System: Multi-Sensor IoT Environmental Sensor Box With CircuitPython

This guide will walk you through making an environmental monitoring device with GPSTemperatureHumidityBarometric Pressure, and Air Quality sensors, all updating to the cloud. Once build, this project takes readings occasionally and sends them to Adafruit IO, stamped with time and location. All that is required is an AC outlet and a WiFi network.

All done in CircuitPython with AirLift, our wireless co-processor that makes secure IoT projects a breeze. And we stick it in a cute weatherproof case so it can be deployed anywhere.

Data is shown being streamed to Adafruit IO, the free data aggregation and visualization site.
