We dig the way Michaela Knizova merges self portraiture, history, mythology and the present. From illusion.scene360.com:
In a multi-part series titled “Agast Atera En,” Nynewe documented her travels around Europe using creative portraiture. Posing her body in dark rural landscapes, she acts out original hybrid mythologies, drawing on archetypes and imagery from the dark ages, fairy tales, and Slavic legends. The mix of antiquity and modern horror uncovers hidden energies, such as the psychological influence of legends, the weight of human history, the vulnerability of the body, and the sovereign power of nature.
