Lightning Cosplay recently unveiled their Fury (seen on the left) from Darksiders III cosplay – and it includes NeoPixels embedded in the wig, as well as a whip prop where the NeoPixel strip is the whip!
Here’s a Fury whip prop that doesn’t actually whip but you don’t need to when it looks this cool:
This is the most unique prop we ever build. We had to think about a lot of details, especially how to add all the LEDs. As always we used the LED strips from Adafruit Industries and Ralf modified one of our codes. Actually the whip has no rope, in the game the middle part is just some magical light, so we used a super flexible silicone tube and added the LED strip. The blades were 3D printed, molded and the castetd with a flexible foam to make the whole thing lightweigt and durable.
More about the whole process of the whip will follow in the Fury Making-of Videos when we are back from Pax West.
And their incredibly rad wig with embedded LEDs:
We gave bakka cosplay – transformation artist some of our Adafruit Industries LED Strips which we always use for our cosplays, so we were able to connect the wig to our Powerbox and let the wig light up in different colors and animations. We can switch between 4 different animations (these are just 2 of them).

And of course the two together look remarkable:
