From the Adafruit Forums comes a post from user BellezaDeDiosa who made a zombie costume for their son.
A ultraviolet light emitting diode (UV LED) is used with a ping-pong ball to provide for a pop-out eye effect.
To get the power right, you can use a cell phone charging pack for long life. But how do you figure out how to “make it work?” Adafruit support assistant Mike (no relation) discusses the details here in a clear way.

Thank you so much again for all you help, I could not have done this without you. My son absolutely loved his costume, and I had such a blast making it come to life for him. My 2.5 year old daughter now wants to be a Zombie Warrior next year.
