Inspired by my Grandmother who has what feels like a cameo for every day of the month, I’m always on the hunt for reinterpretations of the classic cameo and this collaboration exceeds anything I could’ve hoped for. from designboom:
presented during 2019’s venice art biennale, artists cindy sherman and catherine opie have joined forces to create a series of contemporary cameos for LIZWORKS. the collection harks back to the classic beauty and long-standing tradition of carving to create a raised profile of an image – most often being a portrait. however, these new designs offer an updated twist on the ancient artwork, resulting in an assortment of endearing jewelry pieces.
