Glitch is High Fashion Performance Art #WearableWednesday

Glitch is a wearable technology work designed to represent digital glitch art in a physical way. Envisioned as a high fashion inspired performance piece, it realises a very digital expression of art in an entirely new way. It was inspired by the blurred lines between digital and physical realities in the modern world, with the growth of augmented and virtual reality further distorting that boundary every day. The piece is constructed from around 160 pieces of laser cut acrylic, affixed to a garment with 93 NeoPixel LED lights creating the colour effect. The lights pulse at a varied rate in a noisy manner, adding an additional dimension to the glitch aesthetic, while also interpolating between blue and purple, again highlighting the digital nature of the piece.
