Imgur user SaraWinters decided to dress as both Ratchet and Clank. Why be one character when you can be two simultaneously? The Ratchet costume is a single piece while Clank straps onto his back. Clank is a puppet, and Sara constructed it so she can control Clank’s head with her right hand. She also designed Ratchet’s tail so it would twitch and curl with the pull of a cable. She said:
The only things NOT made from scratch are the wrench (my boyfriend gave me one of the promotional foam ones from the Tools of Destruction era and I went to town on it to remake it as the modern wrench including a lot of sanding and a new paint job) and the gloves from the palm down. I could have made them completely from scratch but I found a pair of welding gloves for $5. The wrist-to elbow portion is mine.
Yes the shoes are custom. They’re not boot covers.
