Dynasty Warriors 9 debuted on February 8. Philip Odango, a.k.a. Canvas Cosplay, has been working on a costume based on a character in the game since well before its release, and he wore his Lu Bu cosplay for the first time at Katsucon. He made Lu Bu’s striking gold armor, and he’s the first one to complete the new look. He went on a bit of adventure for the build, traveling around the Philippines to get supplies and learn from other cosplayers. He used EVA foam, aluminum foil, ostrich feathers, and Worbla among other materials.
He put the finishing touches on the costume in record time. The photo below shows the costume at 60 percent complete with four days left before Katsucon.
