Performance Piece Interdictor is Informed by Electromyographic and Inductive Sensor Readings #WearableWednesday

Intense piece from Marek Poliks and Christian Smith via vimeo:

Interdictor is a performance piece for soloist with interactive sculpture. Electromyography readings (Myo bands) and inductive sensor readings (flexible electronics developed by Fraunhofer IZM) are communicated to and interpreted by a large network of Arduino Mega 2560s. The network controls a colossal array of computer fans built into the structure – bitbanging each computer fan into a small, individually addressed FM synthesizer. The fans alone produce every sound in the piece.
