Making retro PC add-in cards with Raspberry Pi Pico #RetroComputing #RaspberryPiPico @ianpolpo @FreddyVETELE @yyzkevin

There is a trend to use the Raspberry Pi Pico in designs used to emulate cards for old PCs. The emulation route started with the XTIDE Compact Flash to IDE hard drive card. With the Pico, things have much more capability.

The first was Ian Scott’s PicoGUS used to emulate a Gravis Ultrasound board. See the picture above and the video below.

The second design is the PicoMEM. a PC RPM/RAM/EMS/USB emulator using a Pico and a Micro SD card by Freddy Vetele.

Freddy also has a ISA to CH375/CH376 USB design.

Finally. Kevin has designed a Pico based PCMCIA card adapter board which presents as a NE2000 network interface and UART/serial modem.

This trend is very exciting for the retro crowd and for restoration folks. I hope it continues.
