We showed off Adam Savage’s cute and fluffy New York Comic Con costume just over a week ago: Totoro! He dressed as the star of My Neighbor Totoro, and as usual for Savage, making the costume was a one day process (more or less). We saw footage from within the outfit, but now it’s time to go behind the scenes to look at how he crafted Totoro. Savage was inspired to work with fur again after making the bear from The Revenant for San Diego Comic-Con. He started by tracing a mannequin of his form onto white board and then adding Totoro’s form around it to figure out the best way to build the infrastructure to support the costume. See how it goes in the above video.
