Is it magic if a specific card could be located in a deck? Maybe, or it could be a Raspberry Pi with a camera and software. Paul Nettle describes how it can be done with both visible and “invisible” ink barcodes on the card edges.
A Raspberry Pi Zero W is fitted with a NoIR camera and lens to read a marked deck.
Abra is an iOS client application running on an iPad. It shows what the server’s camera sees along with the decoded deck. The IR marks are quite visible to the camera (first picture).
