Do you remember Spirograph? It’s one of those vintage science toys, along the lines of Erector Sets and the Gyroscope, that made thinking about science fun. Spirograph was a set of geometric drawing toys that made mathematical roulette curves known as hypotrochoids and epitrochoids.
Artist Zak Korvin uses something similar in his unique art style. Here’s more from COLOSSAL:
Drawing inspiration from Japanese mon, an emblem used to designate an individual or family, Korvin incorporates three birds in a circular motif that are drawn into the framework of a precise network of lines that he first traces in graphite using a compass.
