They’re note edible, but the food sculptures from Svava Tergesen look amazing. Here’s more from the artist via BOOOOOOOM:
Made during a time when Tergesen had lost her appetite due to illness, the project became a way for Tergesen to ‘consume’ the food without actually eating it. The use of disguise and ornamentation, food and fabrics, is also meant to provoke questions about and reimagine experiences of domesticity, gender, labour, and identity. As she states:
“Although I work primarily in lens-based mediums, I often incorporate elements of sculpture, collage, and textile art, as well as techniques from disciplines lateral to the arts—such as cooking, gardening or handicrafts. My experimentation with the mis-contextualization of materials and processes is a way of thinking through the violence implied in the authority of mediums and categories.”
