I wanted a working PC for a 1/3 scale BJD. A Raspberry PI was an obvious choice, but couldn’t find a design I liked, that was easy to build, and looked like a classic tower PC.
As this is mainly for show, I used a Pi 1 that I had – I may rebuild for a Pi 4 in the future. The keyboard and mouse are bluetooth, so the USB ports were always going to have BT and Wifi dongles in them, so they’re not externally accessible.
Power and SD card are arranged to be accessible on the rear, plus there’s a panel mounted Phono connector to bring out the video. I added a 40mm fan, and a power LED – mainly because they look cool, but they do add functionality.

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!
Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
