You are probably tired of hearing about fitness bands, but this one has the special power of tapping public transportation for commuters in Singapore according to The Straits Times. These Batman vs. Superman bands are equipped with EZ-Link, allowing them to not only record steps, but to make commuting faster than a speeding bullet. Along with the fitness bands, there is also a smartwatch available according to the post.
Besides being able to use the device as an EZ-Link card, the Garmin vĂvosmart HR with EZ-Link tracks fitness activity round the clock and receives notifications from your smartphone, while the Batman v Superman Fitness Tracker X EZ-Link also tracks fitness activity.
Although people enjoy having technology in their life, it is to the point where having too many devices is a challenge. People want their bands to do more, so embedding the technology to handle transportation makes this wearable more like a mixer in Alton Brown’s kitchen—it serves more than one purpose. Combining benefits is often a good idea when it comes to the creative process model. Remember when the gas station and convenience store were two different stops? Singapore is definitely off to a good start with their offerings. Another good example of a wearable that does many things is Disney’s Magic Band. Check out our tear-down to see what’s inside the device that gets you rides, tracks your location, and pays for your dinner. What else would you want the band to do?
