A new brand launched at London Fashion Week bringing connectivity according to a post on Forbes. It’s called TwentyFour15 and it brings a sporty street look with fiber optic fabric. Although there are logo shirts, hoodies and bodysuits, my fave pieces are the jackets. One is pieced mesh with fiber optic segments separated with strands of tiny LEDs, which have a mysterious glow. The other is a winter puffer taking advantage of a white center stripe hiding more of the shimmery fiber optic fabric. The jackets are able to change color and move to music thanks to a phone app.
Benjamin Males and Nancy Tilbury are the founders and according to the post there is the promise of offering even more connectivity options.
…ideas such as using the connected garments to offer “easter eggs” to music fans who come together physically in a space for instance – enabling them to unlock new features by virtue of being at a certain gig or event. Or even enabling a music artist to swipe a button within the XO app to send her heartbeat to her fans for just a second.
For now you have to register interest on their site for the example pieces as they are planned for 2018. Be warned they are fun, versatile and practical.
