Moscow-based photography couple Alexander Khokhlov and Veronika Ershova has created the black-and-white series ‘Humiforms’, which wittily transforms models into amusing optical illusions.
Layering through makeup and props helped make the unconventional portraits, Khokhlov explains in an email to DesignTAXI.
Each image required roughly between two and six hours to create. The graphics were further perfected using retouching techniques, but otherwise created wholly in-camera, as seen via the behind-the-scenes Instagram video below.
