Trying out the ultra-low cost (20 cents) MSA301 accelerometer with the Arduino plotter @arduino @sparkfun

Trying out the ultra-low cost (20 cents) MSA301 accelerometer with the Arduino plotter (video) –

We saw these ultra-low cost (20 cents!) 3-axis accelerometers on LCSC a few month ago and have been experimenting with them. They’ve got +-2/4/8/16g range, and 14bit resolution according to the datasheet. There’s also tap & freefall detection which makes them a good alternative to accelerometers that are 2 or 3x the price. We have written an Arduino library to start, so far so good!

On the PCB we’re also experimenting with adding JST-SH connects, like Sparkfun qwiic boards. These have a regulator and level shifting so they’re a little different but are compatible.
