Inline KCDI-101 Switchbox #3DPrinting #3DThursday

I took some inspiration from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4818473

I don’t consider this a remix because I used no part of the original files. This design also attempts to instead use the snap-in feature of the switch itself. It is not designed to be very serviceable as it’s a pain to remove the bottom plate and the switch itself.

The stress relief is designed for a 4 mm diameter cable. Just enough space is provided inside for such large cable. I personally used hot melt to isolate the switch wires and keep the cables in place, but I am not kidding myself into thinking that this will be very durable. There wasn’t enough room to make knots at either end.

I provided the FreeCAD files as well for anyone wanting to remix.

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
