Leash Keeper #3DPrinting #3DThursday

scifiguy shares:

I take care of my daughter’s dog once a week for a couple days while she works. I needed a way to prevent this crazy 45lb puppy (a boxer) from eating every wood chip, rock, and piece of cat excrement in the yard, while also allowing her to wander in a limited radius, without the leash dragging on the ground and catching on things. A retractable leash mounted high sounded like the best idea, but I could only commonly find them in 10ft and 16ft maximum extension lengths. So, I made this device that provides a way to shorten the strap to whatever maximum length I want.

If Thingiverse keeps the photos I uploaded in the proper order, then they show the sequence followed for proper wrapping and securing of the strap on the Leash Keeper.

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
