What does it take to become Death Note’s Ryuk? Cosplayer Grellish found out when she made the Shinigami’s ensemble from scratch. She made a latex mask of the head with rooted hair and added the character’s dark wardrobe. It started with a detailed sculpt that she then molded and cast. She punched in the creepy eyeballs and hair and added the teeth one by one. You can see some of the evolution of the costume below. I like seeing where costumes start and where they end (pictured above) for an instant boost of inspiration.
