Just when wearable tech is getting dull with the normal battle of watches, a murmur on Twitter brings the excitement of the upcoming Burning Man. Expect to see the wild and illuminated once again. My first spot on YouTube is Rolf Hut’s hacked glasses that will make sure he is seen on the playa. Not only will he be a NeoPixel ringed beauty, but his heartbeat will be visible thanks to a Pulse Sensor Amped. It’s all controlled by a tiny Adafruit Trinket microcontroller. If you would like to do a similar build, check out our learning guide for Your Pulse Displayed With Neopixels. You can turn a Neopixel ring into a quick necklace or pin to adorn your costume, and all you need to do is wear the pulse sensor wrapped around your finger or clipped onto your ear. It’s a fun way to include biometrics and show you are all heart. Wishing everyone fun at the fest and please add @adafruit to your pics!
