This Is the First Arduino #UglySweater of 2017 #WearableWednesday #wearabletech #Arduino #DIY #holiday

Last year it was teacher Dawn Dupriest that beat the crowds with her LED ugly sweater, and this year she has done it again! Welcome to my first post for the holiday season for an Arduino powered wooly wonder. This time it really is wooly with the theme of llama (emphasis on “la”). Dawn has gone all out with a choreographed light and sound show, using Adafruit Neopixels with a Lilypad Snap and Lilypad MP3 Player. The code makes this sweater almost as good as a decked out LED house, and I’m sure her students are going to love it. The question is whether Dawn will be shooting for a Neopixel Matrix next year. What will top the singing llama? For those of you who would like to start with a simple LED sweater, check out our learning guide for LED Sequins. Choose your fave sequin colors and stitch them with conductive thread along with a GEMMA microcontroller for some blinky holiday fun. The countdown is on—show us your sweater!
