Tips & Tricks for Joining Multi-Part 3D-Prints – Demo with Samus Aran’s Helmet | #cosplay #metroid

After encountering some difficulties attempting a ‘single print’ Samus helmet, Punished Props Academy re-routed to a multi-print approach that required re-joining the pieces together using various techniques depending on the issue at hand. The video below includes some great software tips (and also faults to consider for future prints) and post-print cleaning & fabrication tips & tricks for helmet-sized prints:

Zortax sent us their M300 3D Printer and a pile of filament to create a project. Our family and cosplay counterparts, Jaimi and Rob, were crafting a Samus costume from the Metroid video games and wanted to 3D print the helmet. What a great way to try out the large build volume of the M300 and make an awesome cosplay helmet!
