Mischief maker Jason Eppink explains the relatively simple process for adding emoji to your SSID:

Now it’s all fun-n-dandy that others would get to see the name of your SSID in their list of available networks, but I’m curious if this process could also make it more difficult for intruders to join the network by disabling the SSID broadcast — I’ll have to do some experimenting with that!
