This evening I started working on the driver for a neat new sensor from Infineon, the TLV493D. It’s a 3-axis magnetometer that measures magnetic fields in three dimensions and is often used in joysticks.
However, we’re pretty sure it’ll be find interesting new uses as well. When I opened up the app note I found a pleasant surprise:
The saint of a technical writer who wrote this app note provided a color coded register map, organized by type and relevance.
Technical documentation that goes the extra mile of making the information it is providing presentable and easy to grok makes all the difference in how easy it is to use the information, and in turn what it is documenting. Quality documentation makes subjects more approachable, allowing them to be enjoyed by a larger number of people.
