Plug Cover for 12V 2.1×5.5mm with screw terminal #3DThursday #3DPrinting

If you have low voltage 2.1×5.5mm plugs with screw terminals and want to cover the wires / screws, you might find this cover useful.
I bought a bag of these plug adapters online, the size is 12x14mm. The cover just slides over the screw terminal and stays there just from friction (no additional fixture necessary). If you pull with some force, of course it will go off again. If you want to prevent that just use a litte bit of (hot) glue.

I printed it with TPU (flex), with 8% of infill (but as the walls as only 1mm thick, this might be neglegible). No harsh overhangs, so I didn’t need any supports to print.

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
