Raspberry Pi Breadboard MIDI Controller #piday #raspberrypi @Raspberry_Pi

One year ago the YouTuber Niisse posted an intriguing breadboard based sequencer. Well, now they are back with updates! Two new modules for the music maker with the aid of a Raspberry Pi. The open-face design is beautiful and meticulous. While you can certainly groove out some awesome tunes you might not want to jam too hard.

Via YouTube:

The sequencer lives! In this video I give you an overview of what I’ve been up to, and what the current state of the sequencer is. Then we check out how to program a beat, and use that to make a little bit of music happen.

Music by me.

Some more details from Hackster.io:

The Pi functions as the overall controller, but doesn’t need a screen for an interface. Instead it pipes data to the three distinct breadboard modules, which show data via a series of shift register-controlled seven-segment displays. A number of individual LEDs are also implemented to show the step sequence, as well as auxiliary data.
