What did you do the last time you had three free days? Michael Wilson, a.k.a. Knightmage, made a Goliath costume from Gargoyles. We’ve interviewed Knightmage about his work before, and given his costume history, I’m not surprised to see he put together this intimidating and excellent representation of the lead character from the animated series. He wasn’t sure how he’d pull off the look when he started, but he improvised and figured it out. He says:
The wing frame is Eva foam strips wrapped with wonderflex then fabric. They are connected with pvc pipe inside the suit and are also cross strapped on me to hold them up. The digitilegs are mattress foam attached to compression pants. The feet are eva foam and sandals made into platform shoes with a mattress foam boot then covered in fabric. Prosthetic brow and ears. The horns are eva foam and the makeup is wolfefx.
