The notion of cosplay being an expensive hobby can turn off people who are interested in pursuing it, but you don’t have to fork out a lot of money to craft costumes. You can dive in with what you have. Stoosh Costuming & Cosplay focuses on keeping his creations as inexpensive as possible by using economical materials and everyday household objects. Case in point: this Mega Man costume.
Stoosh recently completed the set of armor for Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo and did so for about $50. He used EVA foam, unsurprisingly, but also a few other items. He says:
EVA foam, protein containers, laundry bin lids and an old bike helmet liner. LOL. All the costumes I make are super cheap, made from stuff I have lying around the house.
I love seeing this kind of resourcefulness in action. View some in progress pictures of the armor below and see more of Stoosh’s work at Facebook.
