Adafruit visits Design Miami 2017 #ArtBaselMiami2017#ArtTuesday#MIT

Occurring alongside the Art Basel fairs in Miami and Switzerland, Design Miami is a global forum for design bringing together influential designers, gallerists,  curators, and critics from around the world.

This year included beautiful smoke-filled bubbles in a work titled New Spring from Studio Swine. The complete work is interactive, allowing participants to play with the bubbles with special gloves. Check out the New Spring link to see these ephemeral pieces. Here’s what I was able to see.

Arnout Meijer makes lamps. Very cool lamps. By putting transparent light reflected patterned material in front of a circle of LEDs you perceive different dimensions depending on the angle you’re looking from.

Last but Definitely not least Rapid Liquid Printing. This was the first public demonstration by the Patrick Parrish Gallery, in collaboration with MIT’s Self-Assembly Lab and Christopher Guberan.

They were making awesome but very heavy handbags in 45 minutes!

Check back soon for more post about Art Basel.
