Cosplayer Theredcomet has done it. He’s brought a Gundam Unicorn Sinanju costume to life. He took three to four days to 3D model the entire suit in Maya. To get it just right, he used references from a decal guide. He transferred the model to Pepakura in order to make templates for the complex armor and traced those templates onto foam. It involved cutting a lot of small pieces and parts; Theredcomet said it felt like 9,000. You can take a look at the Pepakura model below to get an idea of the number of pieces involved and then see a bit of how the costume evolved.
