Make it Move with Crickit! If your project needs to move, here is the guide to assist you. Robotics is all about movement. Just like you and I have muscles that push and pull, your robotic creation will likely have some sort of motor that will turn or spin. Part of your robot project will be to convert that turning or spinning into the movements you want. A twisting servo can become an elbow, a spinning motor can become a wheel.

Make It Bubble – Make a soap bubble blowing robot for bubbly fun! Who doesn’t love getting a bottle of bubbles to have fun with friends and pets? What’s that? You get tired of all that blowing?
Circuit Playground Express comes to the rescue. Along with the Crickit robotics controller, you can build a simple robot that dips the wand in bubble solution and blows the bubbles for you! Great at parties!

LEGO Crickit Rover – Make a two wheeled robot. Build a CRICKIT powered rover robot using LEGO pieces and 3D printed mounts! Learn how to use the Circuit Playground Express and the LEGO brick system to build a two wheeled robot. Use Microsoft MakeCode to program movements with interactive lights and sounds. LEGO is the breadboard equivalent to mechanical design. It’s modularity makes it perfect for prototyping robotics. With just two motors, an Adafruit CRICKIT and Circuit Playground Express board, you can quickly make a moving robot. It’s expandable and completely customizable with 3D printing!

Crickit Dancing Marionette Kit – Build a robotic marionette out of scrap materials using CRICKIT and CircuitPython. This project demonstrates how to build a robotic marionette that is controlled with four arcade-style buttons. The cardboard rig can be configured to control and animate any marionette, and draws inspiration from this Pinocchio marionette.

CRICKIT Flippy Robot – An odd little robot built around CRICKIT that’s vaguely reminiscent of a cricket. We found a cute little robot on thingiverse that used a simple, yet clever locomotion system. Simple in that it used a single yellow (dual shaft) TT motor to control both sides, with the addition of only a battery and power switch. The basic design is, as I said, clever. What could be done to expand on it? We could use two motors. A CRICKIT would provide finer, individual control of the motors. Using the Feather M0 Bluefruit with the Featherwing CRICKIT would let us drive it remotely. All this additional hardware will require the robot to be larger.
