The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has introduced a number of new characters and props to the Zelda mythology. We’ve featured a few costumes and props from the game over recent months, and I was happy to stumble across this idea from Redditor Verrous_PF. They took the glowing bomb weapon from the game and turned it into a glowing treat bucket for Halloween with LEDs and an Arduino Nano. They had to experiment with the best way to do the lighting. This is what they went with:
I decided on using clear tubing with intact strip in a silicon encasement attached to the back. This would keep the lights far from the globe, but still be close, light and have some water resistance. I attached the strip to the tube with heat-shrink tubing, but you could use packing tape if you don’t have any other use for the shrink tubing.
The bomb in the game has 8 ridges so I made 8 tube ribs with 13 pixels on each.
