Hemispheric Photography With Raspberry Pi @Raspberry_Pi #PiDay #RaspberryPi

Here’s a nature photography project from Edward lane via hackster.io:

I recently came across this paper which details the use of a Raspberry Pi for taking hemispheric photos of forest canopy and subsequently details a method for batch processing these images using ImageJ and R.

The idea of the system is so tree canopy can be monitored over a season or two to create a picture of how the canopy changes in relation to season, climate, etc.

This tutorial will take you through the process of setting up your Pi, building the enclosure, and conducting analysis of your photographed tree canopy.
