Andrew Back of RS-Online posted a build log detailing his journey building a cluster of MicroVAX machines using Raspberry Pi running emulated software instead of finding/reusing old hardware.. This project was made possible by using SimH “configured to emulate at MicroVAX 3900 with 64Mb of memory, 1.5Gb disk and a CD-ROM drive”. The SimH installation on both networked raspberry pi’s was performed using a Raspberry Pi connected to a DECVT420 serial terminal (for “extra authenticity”).
