Keyboard #5: Standard Tenkeyless board

A few weeks ago I got very interested in the idea of 3d printed keyboards. My brother had a broken mechanical keyboard which I de-soldered the switches from which left me only needing the diodes, Teensy 2.0, screws and keycaps. After looking through what thingiverse had to offer, I choose between the @FedorSosnin ‘s Sick-68 and @fumbucker ‘s Clueboard 66%. I printed and assembled both, but ultimately ended up soldering and programming the clueboard. With this knowledge I decided to make a full size keyboard with the strengths of both. The spacing measurements and overall design is taken from the sick-68, the alternating layers is taken from the clueboard.

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
