Via the NY Daily News, a new app will let you trace the quest for LGBTQ rights in the five boroughs of New York City. The app is formatted as a series of mobile walking tours. It was developed by a collaboration between The NYC LGBT Historic Sites Project and VAMONDE, a tech version of the Lonely Planet-type guides.
Several tours exploring different aspects of the early LGBTQ experience, such as “LGBT Harlem, In the Life,” “LGBT Theater District” and the “Stonewall LGBT Village Pride Tour” will dig deep into the meticulous research done by the team at The NYC LGBT Historic Sites Project.
“Someone coming to the city, or a tourist, or New Yorker can hold their hand out in front of them and see LGBT sites in the immediate vicinity.”
